OUR EBC TREK IS A SUCCESS
Having completed the Everest Base Camp trek together as a family, they know that every challenge is easier when people come together behind a meaningful cause. In 2023, the Jayaswal family embarked on an ambitious challenge: trekking to Everest Base Camp to raise funds for Galaxy Gurukul. What began as a personal challenge became a powerful fundraising campaign that captured the attention of supporters across the UK and beyond. Thanks to the generosity of donors, the campaign raised over £45,000, helping Galaxy Gurukul expand its reach and provide educational opportunities to more children. The Everest Base Camp challenge also received significant media coverage, including features on BBC Radio, ITV News and other UK media outlets, helping raise awareness of the importance of education for underprivileged children. The success of the Everest challenge demonstrated what can be achieved when a community comes together behind a meaningful cause.

Miles for Minds 2026: From Everest Base Camp to the Great Eastern Run – Supporting Galaxy Gurukul
On 11 October 2026, Vikash Jayaswal(52), Co-Founder of Galaxy of Homes, will take on the 21.1 km Great Eastern Run Half Marathon, while his son Vivaan Jayaswal (13) will run the 5 km race in Peterborough. They aim to raise £5,000 for Galaxy Gurukul, a free school supporting over 300 underprivileged children in Kolkata, India. Together, they are running to help provide education, opportunity and hope to children who deserve a brighter future.

Galaxy Foundation Ltd was established in the UK on 27 February 2023, to make quality education accessible to all children, regardless of their socio-economic background. Founded under Galaxy Foundation Ltd, Galaxy Gurukul is a not-for-profit school that provides completely free, high-quality education to underprivileged children.
Established with the vision of providing education for all, we currently support 250+ students, not just academically, but also with uniforms, nutrition, life skills, cultural activities, and community awareness programs
The first project of the humanitarian arm of the Galaxy Foundation is Galaxy Gurukul, a school established in Kolkata, India, in mid-2023. The lease agreement for the school was signed in March 2023, and Galaxy Gurukul officially opened on 9th April 2023. The first academic session began on 12th June 2023.
Today, the school stands as a vibrant centre of learning, with a dedicated team of lady teachers nurturing young minds. It’s heartwarming to see the little boys and girls playing, learning, and building beautiful bonds with their teachers. Admissions have now crossed 300 students in 2025 and continue to grow steadily.

Education is the way to make learning fun for children, while education provides the strength to break the vicious cycle of poverty & illiteracy.
Starting with the strength of 76, we aim to provide the right to education (enrollment) to over 600 children finally.

Health and wellness enable children to continue their education with gusto and helps them complete the said education successfully & robustly.
Galaxy Gurukul provides the students with school uniforms, books, balanced nutrition, health check-ups and counselling, apart from lessons.

With women constituting 90% of Gurukul’s teachers’, they spread knowledge and inspire young buds to pursue true education.
